I’m Katie, a freelance writer travelling the Americas. I cover stories at the intersection of travel, sustainability and social change.
Before going freelance, I spent over a decade in the international non-profit sector. There, I worked with local partners, creatives and contributors to commission, develop and share compelling stories from communities around the world.
My NGO background continues to shape my perspective as a writer. I’m interested in stories grounded in people’s lived realities, and in approaches to travel that are conscious, equitable and beneficial to communities with tourism economies.
Alongside writing, I take on freelance projects across copywriting, editing, and content production, particularly with non-profits and organisations working in social impact.
I hold a first class honours degree in Religion, Culture & Society from Durham University and an MSc in International Development Studies from the London School of Economics.
